BRIGHT-NIGHT is the European Night of Researchers: the event conceived by the European Commission with the aim of spreading scientific culture and showing the social impact of research.
An opportunity to get closer to the fascinating world of science and get in touch with the people who have made scientific research their daily mission. The name BRIGHT-NIGHT was born from the union of the acronym for “ Brilliant Researchers I mpact on G rowth H ealth and T rust in research ” with the word night: a “Bright Night” for the energy of research and the passion of researchers.

The initiative, which involves universities, higher education schools and research institutions throughout Tuscany (within the framework and with the support of the Tuscany Region – Giovanisì program): Universities of Florence, Pisa and Siena, University for Foreigners of Siena, Sant’Anna School of Advanced Studies, Scuola Normale Superiore, IMT School of Advanced Studies Lucca, in collaboration with the National Research Council (CNR), National Institute for Nuclear Physics (INFN), National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology (INGV), European Gravitational Observatory (EGO), National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF). Exhibition stands, guided tours, walks, demonstrations, competitions, awards, games and workshops for kids, documentary screenings, activities in museums, meetings, guests and information desks. All this is BRIGHT-NIGHT!

BRIGHT-NIGHT is one of the European Researchers’ Nights funded by the European Commission.
