eConscience – Art of Soundscape is a no-profit association born in early 2017 and based in Italy. It is a group of young researchers in the fields of bio/eco-acoustics and a sound designer with a strong interest in soundscape and field recording, with a view to their scientific and artistic exploration. A passion born by listening to nature sounds and wearing headphones becomes a driving force to promote actions for raising awareness on the needs for ecological conservation. The fusion of science and art aims to spread to a wider ecological conscience by spreading knowledge on soundscapes.

Their mission focuses on the spreading of an “environmental conscience” by the discovery of marine and terrestrial soundscapes, through a mixture of science and art. Soundscapes are powerful and innovative means in scientific investigations devoted to environmental conservation.

Main goals of eConscience – Art of Soundscape are:

  • To promote the development of a wider ecological conscience and environmental awareness by spreading knowledge on soundscapes.
  • To propose and take part in actions aiming at the conservation and restoration of the marine and terrestrial ecosystems.
