2nd European Workshop on Artificial Nighttime Light Remote Sensing

Event Location: Frascati (Rome), Italy

Event Start: 12/10/2026

Event End: 15/10/2026

The Artificial Nighttime Light Workshop is an international event that brings together scientists, engineers, and stakeholders to explore how artificial nighttime lighting can be measured and monitored using optical remote sensing technologies. The workshop focuses on the applications, impacts, and future development of nighttime light observations, covering topics such as environmental monitoring, biodiversity, human health, socio-economic analysis, security, and resilience. It will also help shape future European Space Agency (ESA) research priorities and satellite missions through the development of a roadmap for enhanced nighttime observation capabilities.

AquaPLAN partner Franz Holker Leibniz Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries (FVB-IGB) is a member of the Scientific Committee.
