Underwater Lights and Sounds – What Are the Effects? | Luci e suoni sott’acqua… quali effetti?
What impact does light and noise pollution have on aquatic biodiversity? Find out with AquaPLAN coordinator Elena Maggi! Professor of ecology at the University of Pisa (UNIPI), Elena has been engaged in the study of marine ecosystems for many years. Don’t miss this public event that will explore the impacts on marine biodiversity, learn about the aspects, consequences and results of research aimed at assessing light and noise pollution, with a focus on the waters surrounding Capraia Island (National Park of the Tuscan Archipelago). Findings from AquaPLAN will be presented and sustainable practices aligned with the UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and EUROPARC Charter for Sustainable Tourism will be promoted.
The event will kick-off on Tuesday night 5 August 2025 at 22:00 (CET) at the Environmental Education Center (CEA) La Salata, Capraia Island.
